Effects of Web-Based Ovarian Cancer Awareness Education on Women's Health Beliefs and Risk-Reducing Behaviors
Sponsor: Ege University
Summary
This randomized controlled study will evaluate the effects of web-based ovarian cancer awareness education on women's awareness of ovarian cancer, health beliefs, and risk-reducing behaviors. Participants will be randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group will receive web-based education developed using the Health Belief Model. The educational modules will cover female reproductive organs and cancers, ovarian cancer, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, risk factors, risk-reducing behaviors, and barriers to taking action. The groups will be compared using assessments conducted before the education and three months after its completion to determine whether the education improves ovarian cancer awareness, health beliefs, and risk-reducing behaviors.

Web-Based Ovarian Cancer Awareness Education
A four-week web-based education program based on the Health Belief Model, comprising seven sequential modules on female reproductive organs, gynecological cancers, ovarian cancer and risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, protective factors and risk-reducing behaviors, and perceived barriers and solutions. Participants will access the website using individual usernames and passwords and complete each module before proceeding to the next. An ovarian cancer awareness education guide will be provided through WhatsApp. Weekly messages and telephone contact will support program completion. Module completion will be monitored through the website's administrative panel.
General Reproductive Health Information
Weekly WhatsApp messages providing general reproductive health information unrelated to ovarian cancer, in addition to routine gynecological care. The messages are intended to maintain contact and reduce loss to follow-up. Participants will not receive ovarian cancer education or access to the educational website until after the final assessment.
