Simulation-Based Medical Waste Training for Palliative Caregivers
Sponsor: Istanbul Sultanbeyli State Hospital
Summary
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of simulation-based training on medical waste management knowledge, attitudes, and practices among palliative care caregivers. This single-blind, two-center randomized controlled trial aims to determine the effectiveness of simulation-based training in improving caregivers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding medical waste management compared to a control group.
Official title: EFFECT OF SIMULATION-BASED TRAINING ON MEDICAL WASTE KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES, AND PRACTICES OF PALLIATIVE CAREGIVERS: A SINGLE-BLIND, TWO-CENTER RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL

Medical Waste Management Simulation-Based Training
Medical waste management theoretical training and simulation-based training: * PowerPoint presentation on medical waste management (20 minutes). * Theoretical training on the identification, classification, segregation, and safe disposal of medical waste. * Individual simulation-based training conducted by the researcher using a patient mannequin and medical waste materials in a simulated home care environment (10-15 minutes). * Simulation of medical waste segregation following wound care and subcutaneous injection procedures. * Practical application of appropriate waste segregation and safe collection methods. * Structured debriefing and feedback on correct practices and areas requiring improvement (approximately 10 minutes).
Medical Waste Management Theoretical Training
Medical waste management theoretical training * PowerPoint presentation (20 minutes). * Information on the identification, classification, and segregation of medical waste. * Safe collection and disposal of medical waste. * Sharps waste management and personal protective measures.
