Effects of Exercise Training on Posture, Pain, and Sleep Quality in Esports Players
Sponsor: Bezmialem Vakif University
Summary
This study aimed to investigate the effects of an eight-week exercise training program on posture, pain, and sleep quality in esports players. Esports players were randomly assigned to an exercise group or a control group. Participants in the exercise group performed a home-based exercise program consisting of postural exercises, stretching, spinal mobility exercises, and breathing exercises. The control group did not receive structured exercise training. Both groups received recommendations regarding ergonomic sitting posture and physical activity. Posture, pain, disability related to neck and low back pain, and sleep quality were assessed at baseline and after eight weeks using the New York Posture Rating Chart, Visual Analog Scale, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.

Exercise Training
Participants received an eight-week, home-based exercise training program consisting of postural exercises, stretching, spinal mobility exercises, and breathing exercises. Exercise plans were provided weekly by a physiotherapist through an online platform. The program was designed to address posture, musculoskeletal symptoms, and physical activity habits in esports players.
Ergonomic and Physical Activity Education
Participants in both groups received recommendations regarding ergonomic sitting posture during gaming and general physical activity. These recommendations were provided independently of the structured exercise training program.
