Sponsor: Ali Muaddi

View on ClinicalTrials.gov

Summary

This study evaluated a smart preventive program designed to predict injury risk associated with environmental factors among male amateur football players in Jazan, Saudi Arabia. The program considered environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity, as well as individual factors related to training readiness and preventive practices. A total of 120 amateur football players were included in the study and divided into an intervention group and a control group, with 60 participants in each group. The intervention group used the smart preventive program, while the control group received no intervention from the study program. The program aimed to help players recognize potentially unsafe training conditions and follow preventive recommendations related to training timing and intensity, hydration, rest breaks, warm-up, stretching, and sleep and recovery. The study compared injury risk scores and preventive practices between the two groups. Injury occurrence was also assessed during the study period. The findings may help inform the development of practical, technology-based approaches to injury prevention among amateur football players training in hot environmental conditions.
