Integrated Feldenkrais Method With and Without DNS for Chronic Low Back Pain in Females
Sponsor: University of Management and Technology Lahore
Summary
Non-specific low back pain is defined as low back pain not attributable to an identifiable, known specific pathology. Non-specific low back pain accounts for over 90% of patients presenting to primary care and these are the majority of the individuals with low back pain that present to physiotherapy. It is thought that in some cases the cause may be an over-stretch (sprain) of a ligament or muscle. In other cases, the cause may be a minor problem with a disc between two spinal bones (vertebrae), or a minor problem with a small facet joint between two vertebrae. There may be other minor problems in the structures and tissues of the lower back that result in pain. The terminology becomes "chronic" low back pain when the symptom duration exceeds three months (CLBP). A variety of different types of exercise have been explored to treat CLBP, including low-to-moderate intensity aerobic exercise, high intensity aerobic exercise, core stabilization and muscular strength exercises and flexibility program. However, the most effective form of exercise as a method of rehabilitation for NSCLBP is unknown reflecting its complexity and more research is required. Objective of this study will be to compare the effects of Feldenkrais method with and without Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization exercises on pain, functional disability and quality of life in patients with non-specific chronic low back pain. Study design will be randomized clinical trial. Evaluation will be done by using NPRS, ODI and SF-12. Non-probability convenient sampling will be used and the subjects will be allocated to two groups by random allocation. Group A will receive Feldenkrais approach and Group B will receive Feldenkrais method with dynamic neuromuscular stabilization exercises. Both groups will receive hot pack for 15 minutes as basic treatment of non-specific low back pain before techniques application. Both groups will receive 12 sessions for the period of 4 weeks. Measurements of all the outcome variables will be taken at baseline, 2nd and 4th week. Results will be analyzed by using SPSS 24.

Integrated Feldenkrais Method with Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization exercises DNS
Participants will receive an integrated intervention combining the Feldenkrais Method with Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) exercises, along with a 15-minute hot pack application, to address pain, functional disability, and quality of life in young females with chronic non-specific low back pain. Treatment will be provided three times per week for four weeks, for a total of 12 sessions, with each session lasting approximately 45-60 minutes.
Feldenkrais Method Alone
Participants will receive the Feldenkrais Method along with a 15-minute hot pack application to address pain, functional disability, and quality of life in young females with chronic non-specific low back pain. Treatment will be provided three times per week for four weeks, for a total of 12 sessions, with each session lasting approximately 30-45 minutes
