NCT07886060
Airway Survey - International Airway Assessment Practices (2023-2028)
This international, multicenter, observational survey study aims to assess current clinical practices in preoperative airway assessment in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at both the institutional and individual anesthesiologist levels. The study focuses on the use of individual airway assessment parameters versus combined assessment scores, as well as current documentation practices. An initial survey will establish baseline practices before the anticipated publication of the updated German Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI) guidelines in 2028. A follow-up survey will be conducted after guideline publication to evaluate potential changes in clinical practice. The study aims to identify differences between the three participating countries and assess changes in airway assessment and documentation practices following the publication of the updated guidelines.

Discrepancy of Airway Assessment for Intubation Among Thai Population Using Fingerbreadths as Substitute for Centimetres
Hand-dimensions of 64 airway assessment personnel were measured by one investigator using a vernier caliper. These personnel assessed the thyromental distance and inter-incisor gap of 15 pseudo-patients in a fully crossed design following normal practice. They then measured these parameters using a vernier caliper. Inter-assessor variability using the same pseudo-patient was then compared between measurements based on raw fingerbreadths, fingerbreadths adjusted for hand size, and vernier caliper.

Airway Ultrasound and PeDiAC Score in Pediatric Patients
This prospective observational study aims to evaluate the relationship between preoperative ultrasonographic airway measurements and the Pediatric Difficult Airway Classification (PeDiAC) score in pediatric patients undergoing general anesthesia. The study will assess whether ultrasound-derived airway parameters are associated with difficult airway characteristics and PeDiAC scores.

Correlation of Neck Dimensions of Airway Evaluation
The goal of this observational study is to evaluate thyromental distance (TMD) and mandibular triangle perpendicular length (MTPL); to know which correlates better with the incisor vallecula distance (IVD). Based on the direction and strength of the correlation measure, a multiple regression equation can then be created to first predict the IVD with external linear measure, and second, based on IVD length prediction, the appropriate laryngoscope blade size can be ascertained.

Combined Ultrasound and Upper Lip Bite Test Assessment of Difficult Laryngoscopy in Obese Patients
The aim of this observational study is to evaluate the accuracy of the HMDR combined with the ULBT as a predictor of difficult laryngoscopy in obese patients undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia, regarding: * Correlation of HMDR-ULBT values with Cormack-Lehane grades during laryngoscopy. * Comparison of HMDR-ULBT with standard HMDR in predicting difficult laryngoscopy.

Personalized Selection of Hyperangulated vs. Macintosh Videolaryngoscope Blades
This study aims to determine whether hyperangulated blades have a higher intubation success rate than Macintosh blades in patients undergoing general anesthesia, and to identify patient subgroups in which hyperangulated blades are particularly advantageous for tracheal intubation.
