Self-Help Plus (SH+) for Stress Reduction in Social Service Workers: A Pilot RCT

This is a two-arm, stratified cluster-randomized controlled pilot trial evaluating the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of the World Health Organization's Self-Help Plus (SH+) intervention for stress reduction among social service workers employed by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services (ASHP). Four institutions (clusters) are randomized 1:1, stratified by service type, to receive either SH+ plus Enhanced Care as Usual (ECAU) or ECAU only, with a target of 50 participants (25 per arm). The primary aim is to assess feasibility indicators (recruitment, session attendance, retention, and acceptability) to inform a future full-scale definitive trial. Preliminary effects on perceived stress and related mental health and well-being outcomes are examined as secondary outcomes.

A Psychoeducational Intervention to Prevent the Psychological Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic in Primary Care Workers

The goal of this quasi-experimental pragmatic study is to design, implement and evaluate a psychoeducational group intervention aimed at preventing the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on the psychological wellbeing and mental health of primary care healthcare workers. The experience will be carried out in real clinical practice conditions and our purpose is to evaluate it not only in terms of clinical effectiveness but, especially, the terms of feasibility, usefulness, and possibility of this intervention being integrated into the usual practice in primary care centers. There will be two types of participation and a mixed quantitative-qualitative methodology. On one hand, the healthcare workers that will receive the intervention and participate in the study by responding to various before and after online surveys with standardized scales. On the other hand, the community psychologists in charge of implementing the intervention, having received guidelines and training, will help gather the participants' data and will provide their perceptions, assessments, and opinions on the program through other questionnaires. After the intervention, a selection of both healthcare workers and psychologists will participate in qualitative in-depth, or group interviews to explore the nuances of their perceptions of the program. The results will allow the investigators to know the usefulness and effectiveness of the intervention and, above all, to model and improve its design and implementation strategy, and promote its generalization beyond the framework of this project.

Physical Activity in Lawyers: Factors Affecting Musculoskeletal Pain

This study aims to determine the prevalence and distribution of musculoskeletal pain among lawyers registered with the Isparta Bar Association, specifically in relation to their varying levels of physical activity. The data obtained will help establish the relationships between physical activity levels, occupational factors, stress, and job satisfaction, thereby providing a foundation for developing personalized and preventive physiotherapy approaches for this specific population. Furthermore, the study will serve as a guiding resource for the ergonomic improvement of lawyers' working conditions and the formulation of occupational health policies. H1: There is a statistically significant relationship between lawyers' physical activity levels and the frequency, distribution, and severity of musculoskeletal pain in various anatomical regions of the body. H2: Physical activity level, perceived stress, occupational burnout, and job satisfaction levels are significant predictors of musculoskeletal pain among lawyers. H3: There is a statistically significant difference between lawyers' sociodemographic and professional characteristics (duration of employment, daily time spent at a desk and using a computer, etc.) and their perceived stress and job satisfaction scores. H4: Musculoskeletal complaints and functional limitations are significantly higher among lawyers experiencing high levels of perceived stress and occupational burnout compared to the group reporting low stress and burnout.

Basic Trauma Training Programme for Newly Graduated Nurses in Saudi Trauma Centres

New nurses often find it difficult to adjust when they start working in fast-paced, high-pressure trauma units, and many leave their jobs within the first two years. This study looks at whether a two-day training programme, called Basic Trauma Training (BTT), helps newly graduated nurses in Saudi trauma hospitals feel more confident, satisfied and engaged in their work, and more likely to stay in the nursing profession. The study takes place at two trauma hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Because it is not practical to randomly assign nurses to groups in this real-world hospital setting, the study compares an earlier group of new nurses, who receive standard hospital orientation only, with a later group, who receive standard orientation plus the two-day BTT training. Both groups complete questionnaires before and after their orientation or training period, answering questions about job satisfaction, engagement, stress and their plans to stay in the role. The study also looks at actual staff retention using hospital employment records at 6 and 12 months. Nurses in the comparison group are offered the BTT training later, once their part of the study is complete, so that everyone has the chance to take part in the training.

Protocolized Receptive Music Intervention to Reduce Care Refusal in Nursing Home Residents With Major Neurocognitive Disorders

The goal of this randomized study is to find out whether using a structured, protocolized music program (MUSIC CARE©) during daily hygiene care can reduce care refusal in older adults with dementia (memory and thinking conditions) who live in nursing homes (EHPADs). What is "care refusal"? Care refusal (also called resistance to care) happens when a person with dementia refuses or becomes distressed during everyday care activities such as bathing, dressing, or taking medications. It is a very common situation in nursing homes that can be stressful for both residents and care staff. The main questions this study aims to answer are: * Can a structured, daily music program reduce care refusal during bathing and hygiene care compared to current practice? * Does using music for 20 minutes during the care session work as well as - or differently from - using it both before and during care (40 minutes total)? * Does the music program also reduce distressing behavioral symptoms in residents? * Does it reduce the need for sedative or psychiatric medications? * Does it reduce professional burnout in caregivers who perform hygiene care? Researchers will compare three groups: * Group 1 (Control): Current practice - care staff may use MUSIC CARE© at their own discretion, as they already do * Group 2 (Music During Care): Structured use of MUSIC CARE© for 20 minutes during every hygiene care session, daily for 4 weeks * Group 3 (Music Before + During Care): Structured use of MUSIC CARE© for 20 minutes before and 20 minutes during every hygiene care session (40 minutes total), daily for 4 weeks Nursing homes (not individual residents) are randomly assigned to a group. Residents and their caregivers will: * Have their level of care refusal recorded daily for 4 weeks * Have neuropsychiatric symptoms and medication use assessed at the start, Week 4, and Week 8 * Caregivers will also complete a confidential and anonymous professional burnout questionnaire at 3 time points

Voice Assistant for Outpatient Neurology Visits

Documentation duties account for a substantial portion of an outpatient physician's working time and reduce time available for direct patient interaction. Voice assistants based on automatic speech recognition and large language models are being developed to automate medical documentation across clinical specialties. However, such ambient AI-based services have not been systematically validated in Russian-language outpatient neurology practice integrated with a regional electronic health record platform. This pilot, multicenter, prospective, before-after study evaluated the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of a voice assistant Service designed to automatically pre-fill the structured outpatient neurology visit protocol in the Moscow regional medical information system (EMIAS). The Service implements a pipeline of streaming speech-to-text transcription, two-speaker diarization, and large language model-based mapping of the dialogue between the physician and the patient onto the fields of the standardized neurology examination protocol. Five neurologists at five outpatient clinics in Moscow participated. The study comprised three stages: (1) baseline timing of consultations without the Service; (2) timing of consultations with the Service after a two-week adaptation period, with parallel evaluation of transcription and pre-fill quality and of physician and patient satisfaction; and (3) statistical analysis. Three hundred twenty consultations were timed (160 per stage). A stratified random sample of 30 audio-recording / generated-protocol pairs was used to evaluate Service quality; free-text fields were rated on a 5-domain Likert questionnaire and on a 10-point visual analogue scale, and binary fields were rated dichotomously to derive sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, Jaccard index, and false-positive rate. Patient satisfaction was assessed by the modified Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire 8 (PSQ-8); physician feedback was assessed by a custom questionnaire (including the Net Promoter Score) and by semi-structured in-depth interviews with thematic analysis using grounded theory. The primary outcomes were the change between stages in (a) the time of focused physician attention to the patient and (b) the time spent filling and editing the protocol. Secondary outcomes addressed total consultation time, transcription quality (Word Error Rate), expert-rated quality of pre-filled fields, patient satisfaction, and physician satisfaction. The study was conducted under the framework of the Moscow Healthcare Department experiment on the use of digital innovation technologies in health care (Order No. 153 of 21 February 2025), and was approved by the local independent ethics committee.

Evaluating the Impact of Resource Navigators to Support LTC and RH Staff During and Beyond COVID-19

The goal of this clinical trial is to test how well resource navigators help long-term care and retirement home staff access the various health and wellness resources available to them and the effects that this has on their health and wellness overall. The main questions it aims to answer are: \- How does one-on-one support from a resource navigator affect the wellness of long-term care and retirement home staff, including burnout, vaccination status, and COVID-19 infection? Researchers will compare participants in the intervention group (where participants are paired with a resource navigator) and the control group (where participants are not paired with a resource navigator) to see the impact access to a resource navigator has on wellness (primary outcome), burnout, knowledge of, access to and use of wellness resources, knowledge/alignment with provincial public health guidelines related to SARS-CoV-2 vaccine outcomes, SARS-CoV-2 infection, hospitalization, and death (secondary outcomes). Hypothesis: Researchers anticipate that those in the intervention group (have access to a resource navigator) will report a higher positive change in wellness between baseline and 6 months.

Developing Competency Awareness and Clinical Coordination in a Neonatal Unit

In neonatal care, patient safety depends not only on individual clinical skills, but also on how teams recognize and use the competencies available during a shift. When staff are uncertain about who is able to perform specific tasks, coordination can become difficult, and responsibilities may be unevenly distributed. This study examines a structured intervention in a neonatal unit aimed at supporting the development of clinical competencies and increasing staff awareness of each other's capabilities. The intervention combines competency mapping, facilitated reflection, simulation-based activities, and ongoing dialogue with clinical coordinators to support everyday coordination and task allocation. The study uses a mixed-methods design, including questionnaires and qualitative data, to explore how the intervention is implemented in practice and whether it contributes to changes in staff experiences of competence, collaboration, and confidence in clinical work.
