Development and Evaluation of an Emergency Nursing Care Training Program Focusing on CPR and Triage for the Lao People's Democratic Republic
In low- and middle-income countries, particularly the Lao People's Democratic Republic, limited infrastructure and constrained educational access create competency gaps and limited training opportunities for emergency nurses. As existing evidence primarily involves high-resource settings, its applicability to low-resource settings is limited. Therefore, an Official Development Assistance-derived, culturally tailored emergency nursing training program was developed for the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and its effectiveness will be evaluated. This quasi-experimental study will used a single-group pre-test-post-test design, with data collected using practical performance assessments and self-administered surveys. The six-session program (three lectures and three activities) will be preceded by pre-learning videos and handouts to standardize baseline knowledge. Guided by Kirkpatrick's model, the outcomes include program satisfaction (Level 1: Reaction), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and triage knowledge (Level 2: Learning), CPR core skills, triage skills, and emergency nurses' professional competency (Level 3: Behavior). Continuous data will be analyzed using the paired t-test or Wilcoxon signed-rank test, depending on normality.

Immersive Virtual Reality Versus Manikin-Based Simulation for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training
This study compared two methods for teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to undergraduate medical students: immersive virtual reality and manikin-based simulation. A total of 129 medical students participated in the study and were assigned to either the immersive virtual reality group or the manikin-based simulation group. The study evaluated students' knowledge and practical CPR skills after the training and assessed their satisfaction with the learning method. The study examined whether immersive virtual reality provided an effective alternative to manikin-based simulation for CPR education.

CPR and Agonal Breathing Recognition Training for Police Officers
This study will evaluate an educational training program for police officers in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Police officers may arrive at out-of-hospital cardiac arrest events before emergency medical services and may be able to provide early cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator support. However, abnormal gasping or agonal breathing can be mistaken for normal breathing and may delay recognition of cardiac arrest. Participants will receive a single training session consisting of an adult CPR refresher course and agonal breathing recognition training. Anonymous online questionnaires will be completed before and immediately after the training. The study will compare pre-training and post-training questionnaire results to assess changes in agonal breathing recognition accuracy, CPR-related knowledge, and course satisfaction.
