The Impact of AI-Assisted Diagnosis and Treatment on Physicians' Potential Legal Liability: An Expert Perspective

The goal of this randomized vignette-based experiment is to investigate how AI-related contextual factors influence expert assessment of physician negligence in AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment scenarios among experts in medical malpractice assessment. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does physician acceptance or rejection of AI recommendations, compared with non-AI use, influence the likelihood of being assessed as negligent? Researchers will compare a no-AI assistance control group with four AI-assistance groups under different AI use conditions to examine how AI involvement and contextual factors affect assessments of physician negligence. Participants will: Complete a web-based questionnaire after eligibility confirmation. Evaluate a series of clinical vignettes describing adverse patient outcomes following physician decision-making under different AI-use conditions.

Impact of Gender Identity on Dentists' Clinical Decision-Making

This randomized study evaluated whether patient gender identity influences dentists' clinical decision-making. Dentists in southern Brazil were randomly assigned to receive one of two versions of the same hypothetical dental clinical case. The cases were identical except for the patient's gender identity, which was presented as either a transgender woman or a cisgender woman. Participants selected treatment options for anterior and posterior teeth and completed questionnaires regarding professional characteristics and knowledge about transgender health. The primary objective was to determine whether patient gender identity influenced treatment recommendations. Differences in clinical decision-making between groups were analyzed using regression models.

Operating Room Nurses' Knowledge of Medical Device-Related Pressure Injuries and Clinical Decision-Making Skills

This multicenter, scenario-based cross-sectional study aims to examine the effect of operating room nurses' knowledge of medical device-related pressure injuries on their clinical decision-making skills. The study will be conducted with approximately 165 operating room nurses working in three different hospitals in Gaziantep, Türkiye. Data will be collected using a descriptive information form, a validated medical device-related pressure injury knowledge scale, and a scenario-based clinical decision-making assessment form. The study will evaluate the relationship between nurses' knowledge levels and their clinical decision-making performance, as well as identify factors influencing these outcomes. The findings are expected to contribute to improving patient safety, enhancing nursing education, and supporting evidence-based clinical decision-making in perioperative care.
