Masticatory Efficiency, Bite Force, and Patient-Reported Outcomes in Patients Rehabilitated With Complete and Partial Dentures Supported by Teeth, Mini-Implants, or Conventional Implants

This study aims to evaluate masticatory efficiency, bite force, and patient-reported outcomes in edentulous and partially edentulous patients rehabilitated with different removable prosthodontic treatment modalities. The study includes both cross-sectional and longitudinal components. The cross-sectional component will compare patients wearing conventional complete dentures, conventional removable partial dentures, mini-implant-retained overdentures, conventional implant-retained overdentures, and implant-assisted removable partial dentures. The longitudinal component will assess changes in masticatory performance, bite force, and patient-reported outcomes following prosthodontic rehabilitation and adaptation over time. The study seeks to determine whether implant-assisted treatment options provide superior functional outcomes, oral health-related quality of life, and patient satisfaction compared with conventional removable prostheses.

The Effect of Palatal Rugae Design in Complete Denture on Patient Satisfaction and Quality of Life

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether different palatal rugae designs in complete dentures can improve comfort, function, and overall oral health-related quality of life in edentulous adults aged 40 to 80 years. The main questions it aims to answer are: Do roughened or vacuum-formed thermoplastic sheet palatal rugae designs lead to higher patient satisfaction than the traditional polished design? Do these designs improve oral health-related quality of life, including chewing, speaking, and overall comfort? Researchers will compare three denture designs-a polished palatal surface, a roughened palatal surface, and a vacuum-formed thermoplastic sheet rugae design-to see which design provides better comfort, function, and quality of life for patients. Participants will: Receive complete maxillary dentures made with one of the three palatal rugae designs Attend follow-up assessments at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after denture insertion (in person or by phone) Complete the OHIP-EDENT questionnaire and a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) to report satisfaction, comfort, and oral health-related quality of life.

Accuracy of Digital vs Conventional Denture Impressions: An In Vivo Study

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the accuracy of two denture impression techniques, digital intraoral scanning and conventional border-molded impressions, in adults who have lost all their teeth (fully edentulous patients). The main questions it aims to answer are: Is a digital intraoral scan as accurate as a conventional impression for capturing the shape of the mouth, including movable gum areas? Are repeated digital scans consistent (precise) when taken multiple times on the same patient? Researchers will compare digital impressions taken with an intraoral scanner to conventional impressions made with custom trays and border molding to see if digital scans can match the accuracy of the traditional "gold standard" method. Participants will: Attend Dubai Dental Hospital for two study visits. Have their mouth scanned three times using a digital intraoral scanner. Have a conventional impression taken using a custom tray and high-accuracy material after border molding. Provide informed consent and allow their impression data to be analyzed for accuracy.
