Additional Effects of Flutter With Conventional Chest Physiotherapy on Peak Expiratory Flow Rate and Chest Expansion in Post CABG Patients With COPD

Flutter therapy is an oscillating positive expiratory pressure (OPEP) technique that combines positive expiratory pressure with airway oscillations to facilitate mobilization and clearance of respiratory secretions. Conventional chest physiotherapy includes deep breathing exercises, incentive spirometry, airway-clearance techniques, splinted coughing and early mobilization to promote lung expansion and secretion clearance. A total of 94 patients aged 40-70 years with mild-to-moderate COPD undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) will be enrolled in this randomized controlled trial and will be randomly allocated into two groups, with 47 participants in each group. The intervention group will receive conventional chest physiotherapy combined with Flutter therapy, while the control group will receive conventional chest physiotherapy alone. Both groups will receive supervised treatment for 5 consecutive postoperative days, with 3 sessions per day, resulting in 15 treatment sessions. Baseline assessment will be performed on postoperative day 1 before commencement of the intervention, and post-intervention assessment will be conducted on postoperative day 5. The study will compare the effects of Flutter-assisted conventional chest physiotherapy versus conventional chest physiotherapy alone on postoperative peak expiratory flow rate, chest expansion and airway clearance.

Xenon Compared to Sevoflurane and Total Intravenous Anaesthesia for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery

Xenon is a gaseous anaesthetic agent registered in several European countries. It has been administered safely during cardiac surgery in pilot studies. In animal studies, xenon decreases the size of experimental myocardial infarction. This 3-arm study will compare xenon, sevoflurane and a propofol-based total intravenous anaesthesia for maintenance of anaesthesia during coronary artery bypass graft surgery conducted with extra-corporeal circulation. Xenon and sevoflurane will be administered before and after extracorporeal circulation. Propofol will be administered during extracorporeal circulation in the three groups of patients. The study will compare the postoperative myocardial damage observed 24 hours after surgery from blood levels of troponin I, a largely accepted biomarker of myocardial necrosis. The main hypothesis is that the myocardial damage observed after xenon administration will not be superior to the damage observed after sevoflurane administration (non-inferiority). The second hypothesis is that the myocardial damage observed after xenon administration will be inferior to the damage observed after total intravenous anaesthesia.

Development of an Arterial Pressure Monitoring Set Fixation Apparatus

This study aims to develop an arterial pressure monitoring set fixation device and evaluate its effectiveness in clinical settings. The device is designed to increase the stability and comfort of arterial pressure monitoring during patient care. An experimental study will be conducted with patients requiring arterial pressure monitoring. The device's effectiveness will be evaluated by measuring fixation stability and postoperative arterial blood pressure-CVP parameters over 48 hours. The study aims to demonstrate that the new fixation device can improve patient safety and monitoring accuracy compared to the standard method using adhesive tape, thereby contributing to better clinical outcomes.

The Effect of Listening to Holy Quran Recital on the Incidence of Delirium Post-CABG

This study is planned to check the effect of holy Quran recital on the development of delirium after conronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). Different studies have been done before about the effects of non-pharmacological intervention on delirium after CABG, howvere, none was designed specifically to check the effect of Holy Qoyran on this outcome.
