Effects of Virtual Reality-Based Interventions on Fine Motor and Activities of Daily Living Skills in Children Aged 5-10 Years With Autism Spectrum Disorder

This study will investigate the effects of a Leap Motion-based virtual reality intervention on fine motor skills and daily living performance in children aged 5-10 years with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Children with ASD may experience difficulties in motor coordination, hand use, attention, and daily activities, which may affect their participation in everyday life. The study will include children with ASD who attend occupational therapy sessions and meet the study eligibility criteria. Participants will receive a structured virtual reality-based intervention using Leap Motion technology. The intervention will provide controlled, repetitive, and task-oriented activities involving hand and finger movements. Fine motor skills, daily living performance, and cognitive functioning will be assessed before and after the intervention using standardized assessment tools, including the Nine Hole Peg Test, the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, and the Mini-Mental State Examination. Changes in fine motor performance and daily living performance from before to after the intervention will be examined. The study aims to determine whether a Leap Motion-based virtual reality intervention may support fine motor skills and functional performance in children with ASD.

Long-term Effects of Radial Artery Cannulation on Vessel Diameter, Blood Flow and Fine Motor Skills

This observational study examined changes in blood vessel diameter, blood flow, and fine motor performance after ultrasound-guided radial artery cannulation in adults undergoing elective cardiac surgery. Ultrasound measurements of the radial and ulnar arteries and Purdue Pegboard tests of hand performance were obtained before cannulation and during follow-up for three months. Measurements were compared over time within each participant and between the relevant arteries or hands.

Robotic-Assisted Training on Hand Function in Stroke

Stroke is a neurological deficit attributed to an acute focal injury of the central nervous system. A key component of stroke rehabilitation is improving upper limb function to reduce impairments and disabilities. A task-specific approach retraining for upper extremity control seeks to minimize impairments while maximizing the patient's functional performance. Technology-supported training is emerging to help therapists, patients, and the health system. Robotic devices allow to facilitate and control the complexity of a motor task. The benefits of robotic rehabilitation affect both therapists and patients: robot-assisted therapy can increase treatment compliance by way of introducing games or interactive upper limb tasks and patients can train independently with less supervision from therapists. Therefore, this study was conducted in line to determine the effect of robotic-assisted training on hand function in patients following a stroke.

Respiratory Function, Respiratory Muscle Strength, and Hand Function in Hemiparetic Cerebral Palsy

The goal of this observational study is to learn how respiratory function and respiratory muscle strength are related to hand use in children and teenagers with hemiparetic cerebral palsy (CP) aged 6 to 18 years. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is respiratory function related to hand function in children with hemiparetic CP? Is respiratory muscle strength related to hand function in children with hemiparetic CP? Is respiratory function related to how strong children can squeeze with their affected hand? Is respiratory muscle strength related to how strong children can squeeze with their affected hand? Is respiratory function related to how well children use their hands in daily activities? Is respiratory muscle strength related to how well children use their hands in daily activities? Is respiratory function related to children's hand skill level? Is respiratory muscle strength related to children's hand skill level? Participants will: Visit the clinic one time for a single assessment session. Do simple lung tests using a small portable device to measure respiratory function. Do tests that measure how strong their breathing muscles are. Complete hand and arm tests, including: A hand grip strength test, A simple block-moving test, A short questionnaire about using the hand in daily life, A standard hand skill rating. Researchers will look at how respiratory measures are related to hand strength, hand skills, and daily hand use. This study may help improve rehabilitation programs by showing whether respiratory muscle strength and hand skills should be trained together in children with hemiparetic CP.
