Colchicine And Dialysis Patients; a Feasibility Study
Colchicine is an inexpensive drug that has been available for decades. Trials, which excluded patients with kidney disease, showed that colchicine decreased the number of heart attacks and strokes. The investigators cannot be sure if these results will apply to dialysis patients and a clinical trial exploring the effect of colchicine on heart attacks and strokes specifically in dialysis patients is needed. Colchicine may also be beneficial for dialysis patients as it may help arteriovenous fistulas to last longer. An arteriovenous fistula is a connection made between an artery and a vein in the arm, allowing for access to a person's bloodstream as part of dialysis. Sometimes, these connections can get too narrow in some parts, stopping them from working properly. These narrowings can be treated with a balloon inserted into the vein with the help of an x-ray. Balloons coated with a drug called paclitaxel, which works like colchicine, can be helpful, so the investigators think colchicine may help too. At present, colchicine is often avoided in patients receiving dialysis. Patients on haemodialysis take a number of medications already and have significant comorbidity. Therefore, it is possible that a higher proportion would have difficulty tolerating colchicine. These concerns mean that a large trial assessing the potential benefits of colchicine in this population cannot begin without further data on feasibility. This feasibility study will establish whether low dose colchicine is tolerated and acceptable to dialysis patients and will help the investigators to plan recruitment to future clinical trials. The investigators will give colchicine to 100 dialysis patients. The investigators will monitor the participants for side effects and see how many continue to take it for the planned period of 3 months. If feasibility is confirmed, there are then strong rationales for large clinical trials exploring the effect of colchicine on both mortality and vascular access outcomes in dialysis patients.

Comparison of Tunneled Cuffed Dialysis Catheters Versus Arteriovenous Fistulae in Elderly or Multimorbid Patients
Patients are randomly assigned to a study group. Depending on the study group, either an arteriovenous fistula or tunneled cuffed catheter (TCC) will be implanted, followed by continuous evaluation of the patients during the first year after initiating the vascular access. The evaluation includes statistical evaluation of all events, including loss of access, thrombosis, infection, loss of patency, increase in co-morbidities, e.g. congestive heart failure as well as quality of life. The implantation of the TCC is a standard procedure and it will be used only in accordance with the approved instructions of use on subjects who have signed an informed consent form. The surgery is a standard operation and it will be performed by specialized surgeons on subjects who have signed an informed consent form (No grafts will be used; implantation of a standard TCC, used at the Department of Nephrology). Both, an arteriovenous fistula or a TCC, will be used for routine chronic haemodialysis

TIME MANAGEMENT DURING HAEMODIALYSIS ON ANXIETY AND FEAR IN CHILDREN
Aim: This study aims to determine the effect of time management training on anxiety and fear levels in children undergoing haemodialysis treatment. It is anticipated that the structured time management training provided to children will contribute to the treatment process. Method: This study has a randomised controlled experimental design. The study was conducted at the Gaziantep University Sahinbey Research and Application Hospital Children's Nephrology Diseases Hemodialysis Unit between 1 November 2025 and 1 April 2026. The study sample consisted of children aged 9-12 undergoing hemodialysis treatment at this unit. The sample group was randomly divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received training after the pre-test, and the training's effectiveness was evaluated one week and one month later. The control group received routine care. Data were collected using a questionnaire, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children, and the Medical Procedure Fear Scale.

Vaccination Response Modulation With a Targeted Rapamycin Protocol Study
This study will investigate dialysis recipients' responses to important vaccines. Research suggests that a medication commonly used by transplant recipients may improve vaccine responses. The investigators will be conducting a clinical trial to see whether a short course of low-dose Sirolimus improves the response to vaccination against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and influenza (flu) in patient with kidney disease over 60 years old who receive haemodialysis.

Pulsatile Flushing Technique in Reducing Blockage of T-CVAD for Haemodialysis Patients
This study investigates the effectiveness of pulsatile flushing techniques in reducing blockage in Tunnelled Central Venous Access Device (T-CVAD) among patients undergoing haemodialysis (HD) treatment at multiple renal centres within the Hospital Authority (HA) in Hong Kong. With limitation in single service protocol for each cluster of renal units, it is designed as a prospective, parallel, cluster non-randomised controlled trial involving 591 patients from 14 renal units. In order to identify the most effective flushing technique for T-CVAD maintenance, survival analysis on clinical effectiveness, in terms time-to-event blockage of the T-CVAD, among three trial arms: 1) Intervention Group A (IG-A) using pulsatile flushing technique with 0.4 second pause time interval; 2) Intervention Group B (IG-B) using pulsatile flushing technique with 1 second pause time interval; 3) Control Group (Con) using standard bolus flushing technique. The findings facilitate development of best practice for T-CVAD maintenance, optimise T-CVAD maintenance protocols, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. This groundbreaking study is expected to signify substantial progression in the nursing management of HD and T-CVAD.

Laughter Yoga Intervention in Patients on Haemodialysis
This study was planned as a randomized controlled experimental type and pre-test-post-test design in order to examine the effects of laughter yoga applied to hemodialysis patients on the happiness and mental well-being levels of the patients and on blood pressure. The universe of the study will be patients receiving hemodialysis treatment at Fethiye Özel Can Dialysis Center (N=184) and the sample will be a total of 72 patients, consisting of the experimental group (n=36) and the control group (n=36). After obtaining the permission of the ethics committee and institution, the data will be collected face to face by the researchers before and after the laughter yoga to be applied to hemodialysis patients receiving treatment at Fethiye Özel Can Dialysis Center and who agreed to participate in the study. In the collection of data; Introductory Information Form (TBF), Warwick-Edinburgh Mentai Well-Being Scale (WEMİOÖ), Oxford Happiness Scale (OMÖ) and blood pressure measurements of the patients will be used. IBM SPSS 25.0 package program will be used to evaluate the data.
