Multidisciplinary Non-Pharmacological Intervention to Improve Quality of Life in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients
This is a single-center interventional study aimed at evaluating the feasibility of a multidisciplinary non-pharmacological approach based on acupuncture, telerehabilitation-based physical rehabilitation, and brain health programs to improve health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and psychophysical well-being in patients who have undergone solid organ transplantation (SOT) at least one year earlier, as well as to provide a preliminary estimate of its effects. Solid organ transplantation (SOT) is currently the most effective treatment, and often the only available option, for end-stage organ failure. Although transplantation can lead to a restitutio ad integrum from a clinical perspective, the quality of life of transplant recipients, regardless of the transplanted organ, frequently remains lower than that of the general population. This project stems from the clinical, social, and scientific need to provide a concrete response to this challenge through the implementation of functional, reproducible, and economically sustainable rehabilitation pathways aimed at improving HRQoL in solid organ transplant recipients. The proposed approach is based on an innovative multidisciplinary model integrating telerehabilitation, acupuncture, and cognitive stimulation. Such a structured model of care may not only improve patients' quality of life and subjective well-being, but also represent an effective strategy for comprehensive post-transplant management by helping reduce complications, prevent cognitive decline, and promote a more person-centered, sustainable, and humane approach to care.

Using Breathing Techniques to Ease Anxiety in ICU Patients Awaiting Heart Transplants
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether a breathing-based relaxation technique called heart rate variability biofeedback (HRVB) can help reduce anxiety in adult patients who are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and waiting for a heart transplant. The main questions it aims to answer are: Can HRVB reduce anxiety in patients awaiting heart transplantation in the ICU? Does HRVB help patients feel more in control of their emotions during this stressful time? Participants will: Complete a brief anxiety assessment before and after the intervention Participate in a guided HRVB session using a breathing device or app Learn how to use the technique on their own for future stress management

Search for Noninvasive Markers of "Graft Injury" in Pediatric and Adult Patients With Congenital Heart Disease Undergoing Cardiac Transplantation
This clinical tissue-based, drug-free, single-center, longitudinal study aims to validate a new diagnostic method, namely, to evaluate whether plasma levels of circulating donor free DNA in the recipient's blood (Dd-cfDNA: donor-derived cell free DNA), in patients undergoing orthotopic heart transplantation, can be predictive of the presence of acute myocardial rejection with the same sensitivity as immunohistochemical analysis on endomyocardial biopsy specimen, the current gold standard for the diagnosis of acute cell-mediated myocardial rejection, in a population consisting of pediatric patients and adult patients with congenital heart disease undergoing orthotopic heart transplantation.
