Evaluation of Patients With Liver Disease
The proposed study aims to evaluate, investigate, and follow-up patients suffering from acute and chronic liver disease. The study will focus on understanding diseases affecting the liver. Patients participating in the study will first undergo a routine check-up as an outpatient. They will be asked to provide blood and urine samples for laboratory testing and will undergo an ultrasound of the liver. Ultrasound examinations use sound waves to determine the size and texture of the liver. After the initial visit subjects will be requested to follow-up once a year at the outpatient department for a similar check-up. Additional tests may be requested throughout the study to provide information for other research studies and individual consent will be requested. These tests may include liver biopsies, skin biopsies, and / or specialized blood, plasma, and lymphocyte examinations. Subjects that qualify for medications presently being studied may be offered the opportunity to benefit from experimental therapy.

B-Ensure: Long-term Follow-up Study to Evaluate Durability of Treatment Response in Previous Bepirovirsen Study Participants
This multi-country, longitudinal follow-up study will enrol adults with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) who previously participated in the Phase III B-Well-1 ((202009: NCT05630807) or B-Well-2 (219288: NCT05630820) studies, received 24 weeks of Bepirovirsen treatment, and achieved hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) levels less than or equal to (\<=) 100 International units per millilitres (IU/mL) at Week 72 without achieving functional cure. No investigational treatment will be administered in this study. Participants will be followed approximately every 6 months for up to 4 years, and retrospective data will be collected from Week 72 of the parent study until enrolment. The study aims to evaluate the long-term durability of HBsAg suppression and disease-related outcomes. The study will end at the last visit of the last participant globally (Month 48). The primary objective of the study is to describe the long-term durability of HBsAg reduction in participants who achieved HBsAg levels ≤100 IU/mL at Week 72 following 24 weeks of Bepirovirsen treatment.

A Study to Compare Blood Levels of Bepirovirsen and Safety Using Different Methods of Injecting in Healthy Adult Participants
This is an open-label study being done to compare two different methods of study medicine bepirovirsen is given in healthy adults. The researchers want to learn how the body affects the medicine over time (pharmacokinetic \[PK\] study). The study will also evaluate the safety of bepirovirsen and how well it is tolerated, meaning how people feel after receiving the medicine and whether they experience any side effects.

Decentralization of Hepatitis B Care in Sub-Saharan Africa: a Pilot Program in Ethiopia
The goal of this observational study is to study models of care for decentralized hepatitis B treatment in Ethiopia. Three different models of decentralized HBV care (standard model, simplified model, test-and-treat model) will be implemented at primary hospitals or health clinics in Ethiopia. Treatment will be given for free to patients who meet the treatment criteria. We will compare clinical outcome, laboratory outcomes and programmatic outcome measures between the 3 models.

Epidemiology, Infectivity and Natural History of Hepatitis C Virus Infection
This study will evaluate hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in blood donors who test positive for antibodies to this virus. Most HCV-infected people do not become ill and are not aware that they have hepatitis or have had it in the past. Some infected people recover completely, whereas others remain chronically infected. The study will try to define infectivity of anti-HCV positive individuals, routes of transmission of the virus, and the number of HCV-infected persons who have evidence of liver disease. Blood donors at the NIH Clinical Center or the Central Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross who test positive for HCV may be eligible for this study. Participants will have a physical examination and history, including questions about socioeconomic status and current sexual practices. They will have 100 milliliters (ml) (6 tablespoons) of blood drawn at the first visit and 50 ml (3 tablespoons) drawn 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after the initial visit. Some participants may undergo plasmapheresis, a procedure for collecting additional plasma (the liquid portion of the blood). For this procedure, whole blood is collected through a needle placed in an arm vein. The blood circulates through a machine that separates it into its components. The plasma is then removed, and the red and white cells and platelets are returned to the body, either through the same needle used to draw the blood or through a second needle placed in the other arm. In some individuals, other body fluids (saliva, urine or semen) may also be collected. Participants may be asked to bring their household contacts and sexual partners to NIH for interview and blood testing for evidence of HCV infection and liver disease. Although this is not required for participation in the study, it would provide additional valuable information. Participants found to have chronic viral infection will be seen more often and will provide additional blood samples for routine medical care. Further medical evaluation may include X-rays or liver scans and referral to a specialist for additional tests or therapy. Ten people in this study will be recruited to participate in a secondary investigation to analyze changes in the level of HCV and the immune response to it, and to relate these changes to the degree of liver damage. In addition to blood collected for the primary study, participants in this investigation will have an additional 50 ml (3 tablespoons) of blood drawn from an arm vein every week for 10 weeks to measure levels of virus, ALT (a liver enzyme), and immune response.

National Liver Cancer Screening Trial
The National Liver Cancer Screening Trial is an adaptive randomized phase IV Trial comparing ultrasound-based versus biomarker-based screening in 5500 patients with cirrhosis from any etiology or patients with chronic hepatitis B infection. Eligible patients will be randomized in a 1:1 fashion to Arm A using semi-annual ultrasound and AFP-based screening or Arm B using semi-annual screening using GALAD alone. Randomization will be stratified by sex, enrolling site, Child Pugh class (A vs. B), and HCC etiology (viral vs. non-viral). Patients will be recruited from 15 sites (mix of tertiary care and large community health systems) over a 3-year period, and the primary endpoint of the phase IV trial, reduction in late-stage HCC, will be assessed after 5.5 years.

Strengthening, Guidance, Health, Empowerment
The goal of this interventional study is to describe the care pathway following the use of an innovative home self-sampling method for the screening of six sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among sex workers met during physical or virtual outreach activities conducted by the ROSELA programme of Médecins du Monde in Montpellier and the surrounding area. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How many people are offered STI self-sampling, receive a self-sampling kit, and return the collected samples for laboratory testing * What proportion of participants are recontacted and attend a consultation following the screening results Participants will receive a self-sampling kit allowing them to collect samples at home or at a place of their choice and complete a questionnaire covering socio-demographic information and information related to their sex work activity.

Comparing Hepatitis B Vaccination Schedules in Patients on Hemodialysis
People with kidney failure who are on dialysis have a weaker immune response to the hepatitis B vaccine than healthy people. Even after vaccination, many dialysis patients do not develop enough protection against hepatitis B infection. Doctors do not agree on whether giving 3 doses or 4 doses of the vaccine works better for these patients. This study will compare two vaccination schedules using a stronger (double) dose of the hepatitis B vaccine in people on maintenance hemodialysis: Group 1 will receive 3 doses of the vaccine, given at the start of the study, 1 month later, and 6 months later. Group 2 will receive 4 doses of the vaccine, given at the start of the study, 1 month later, 2 months later, and 6 months later. One month after finishing their vaccine schedule, participants will have a blood test to check their antibody levels against hepatitis B. A blood level of 10 mIU/mL or higher will be considered evidence of protection (called seroprotection). The study will compare how many people in each group reach this protective level. The goal of this study is to find out which vaccination schedule (3 doses or 4 doses) gives better protection against hepatitis B in people on dialysis. The results may help doctors choose more effective vaccination strategies for dialysis patients in the future.
