Family Physician Nudges for Influenza Vaccination Among Older Adults

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if a family-physician nudge intervention works to improve influenza vaccination among adults aged 65 years and older in China. Two independent, parallel cluster randomized controlled trials will be conducted under two distinct vaccine payment policies, i.e. free vaccination for those older than 65 years in rural areas, and partially insurance-covered vaccination in urban areas. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does the family-physician nudge intervention increase influenza vaccination uptake among older adults? How does the effectiveness of the nudge intervention vary under different payment policies? 2. Is the family-physician nudge intervention cost-effective, acceptable, feasible, and potentially sustainable in primary care settings? Researchers will compare an intervention group receiving a family-physician nudge with a control group receiving routine care to see if the nudge is effective at increasing influenza vaccination among older adults. Participants will: 1. Be recruited at community health service centers and cluster-randomized by their family physicians into one of two groups. 2. Receive either a physician nudge (provider recommendation by a nudging educational pamphlet + default appointment + a follow-up reminder) or routine health education. 3. Have their influenza vaccination status verified through the immunization information system at the end of the trial.

Phase 2/3 Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Immunogenicity and Safety of GC3114B in Adults Aged 65 Years or Older

This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, active-controlled, parallel-group clinical trial in adults aged 65 years or older. The study will evaluate the safety of GC3114B and assess whether its immune response is non-inferior to that of the active control. After providing written informed consent, participants will undergo screening to determine whether they are eligible. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to a study group and receive a single dose of the investigational product on Day 0. Participants will record solicited adverse events in a subject diary from Day 0 through Day 7. The study site will contact participants by telephone on Day 7 to check on adverse events, concomitant medications, and diary completion. On Day 28, participants will visit the study site for safety follow-up and blood sampling. Participants will be monitored for serious adverse events for 6 months.

Sequential Digital Intervention to Increase Influenza Vaccination in Patients With Heart Failure

Influenza vaccination is an important preventive measure for patients with heart failure (HF), but vaccination uptake remains low in China. Although previous studies have demonstrated the benefits of actively promoting influenza vaccination, scalable strategies to improve vaccination uptake among patients with HF after hospital discharge remain insufficiently evaluated. The PANDA-BOOST trial is a prospective, pragmatic, open-label, two-stage sequential randomized clinical trial involving participants previously enrolled in the PANDA II trial. The study aims to evaluate whether sequential digital interventions using artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted telephone calls and short message service (SMS) reminders improve influenza vaccination uptake compared with a single routine vaccination recommendation. After an initial AI-assisted telephone call providing a standardized influenza vaccination recommendation, eligible unvaccinated participants will be randomized in a 1:2 ratio to a routine recommendation group or a sequential digital intervention group. Participants in the sequential intervention group will receive additional AI-assisted telephone calls approximately 14 and 28 days after the initial call. Those who remain unvaccinated and meet eligibility criteria at the third call will undergo a second randomization in a 1:1:1 ratio to no additional SMS, gain-framed SMS, or loss-framed SMS. The primary outcome is influenza vaccination uptake within two months after the first-stage randomization.

Artificial Intelligence-assisted Primary Care for Influenza Vaccination Among Chronic Patients in China (AIPC-Flu)

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate whether an AI-assisted primary care intervention can increase influenza vaccination uptake among patients with chronic diseases and to assess the cost-effectiveness and potential for implementing the intervention in routine primary care. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does the AI-assisted primary care intervention increase influenza risk perception, influenza vaccine literacy, vaccine confidence, intention to receive influenza vaccination, and influenza vaccination uptake among patients with chronic diseases? 2. Is the AI-assisted primary care intervention cost-effective compared with conventional health education? 3. Is the AI-assisted primary care intervention acceptable, feasible, and potentially sustainable for influenza vaccination promotion? Researchers will compare patients with chronic diseases who receive the AI-assisted primary care intervention with those who do not receive it to determine whether the intervention improves patients' literacy, confidence, intention, and uptake of influenza vaccination. Participants will: 1. Be recruited and randomly assigned to the intervention group or control group. Participants in the intervention group will have access to an AI assistant for influenza vaccine-related information and will receive an influenza vaccination recommendation from primary care physicians, while participants in the control group will receive routine health education. 2. Complete a survey questionnaire assessing patients' influenza risk perception, influenza vaccine literacy, vaccine confidence, and intention to receive influenza vaccination. 3. Have their influenza vaccination uptake assessed at the end of the trial.

Influenza Vaccine Immunogenicity in Repeatedly Vaccinated Older Adults

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare immune responses to different influenza vaccine formulations in older adults and to understand how immune aging and repeated annual influenza vaccination affect these responses. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do standard dose, MF59 adjuvanted, and high dose influenza vaccines produce different immune responses in adults aged 65 years or older? * How does immune aging affect responses to different influenza vaccine formulations? * How do immune responses change with repeated annual influenza vaccination, and do these changes differ among vaccine formulations? Researchers will compare older adults who receive a standard dose, MF59 adjuvanted, or high dose influenza vaccine. Younger adults aged 19-49 years who receive a standard dose influenza vaccine will also be included as a reference group to help evaluate age related differences in immune responses. Participants will: * Receive an influenza vaccine. * Provide blood samples before and after vaccination to measure antibody and other immune responses. * Some participants will provide additional blood or nasal samples for more detailed evaluation of immune responses.

SAVE: School Ambassadors for Vaccine Education

Influenza is associated with millions of cases of school absenteeism due to illness, hundreds of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths in the U.S. each year, which can be greatly reduced with influenza vaccination. The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to learn if training school personnel in vaccine communication techniques and equipping schools with vaccine promotional materials targeting students and their parents/guardians increases the influenza vaccination rates of the student population within participating schools. The main question it aims to answer is: -Will flu vaccination rates be higher in intervention schools compared to control schools by the end of the intervention period? Participating schools will: * Have select school personnel (school nurses, coaches, teachers, etc.) complete an online training module and optional training workshop focused on vaccine communication \[intervention arm only\] * Utilize vaccine promotional materials (posters, flyers, digital files for social media, etc.) provided by the study team during flu season \[intervention arm only\] * Track student vaccination rates \[intervention + control arm\]

Influenza Vaccination, ACEI and ARB in the Evolution of SARS-CoV2 Infection

Some authors have proposed the use of the flu vaccine to reduce the severity of COVID-19 cases, while some have proposed the use of ACE Inhibitors (ACEI) or Angiotensin Receptor blockers (ARB), since this virus shares hemagglutinin as a transmission mechanism and acts on the ACE2 enzyme during infection. Other authors described how none of the elderly patients receiving antihistamines and azythromycin in two nursing homes in Toledo -Spain- during the first wave died or needed hospital admission, even considering that 100% of residents had a positive serological test after that wave. Other authors have described a positive evolution in patients receiving amantadine for their Parkinson's disease. The aim is to evaluate whether the admitted patients who are previously vaccinated or those who were already receiving these treatments showed a better evolution.

Administration of the Nasal Influenza Vaccine to Children in Daycare or at a Healthcare Facility

The goal of this intervention study is to learn if giving children influenza vaccinations in early childhood education facilities (i.e., daycare) will increase vaccination coverage compared to giving vaccinations only at healthcare. The main question it aims to answer is: • Does offering children nasal influenza vaccine in daycare result in higher proportion of children getting influenza vaccine. Researchers will compare daycare setting and healthcare setting as the location of giving influenza vaccines to children to see if more children will get vaccinated if they have an opportunity to receive nasal influenza vaccine at daycare. Participants in the intervention group will: • Have the opportunity to receive influenza vaccine in the daycare or in the healthcare Participants in the comparison group will: • Have the opportunity to receive influenza vaccine in the healthcare only
