The Impact of Nicotinamide Mononucleotide Sustained-release Tablets on Immunosenescence and Metabolism in Middle-aged and Elderly Individuals With Metabolic Disorders.

This study evaluates whether nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) sustained-release tablets affect markers of immune system aging in adults aged 50 to 70 years with overweight or obesity and metabolic disorders. It compares NMN, 1,000 mg once daily for 26 weeks, with a matching placebo. The main assessment is the change from baseline in the proportion of a blood T-cell population associated with immune system aging. The study also evaluates liver fat, blood sugar regulation, body composition, other immune and metabolic markers, and cardiorespiratory fitness, together with laboratory measures of safety.

Evaluate the Effect of Synbiotics on MAFLD

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common chronic liver diseases worldwide. Available data indicates that probiotics may regulate the gut microbiota, while Vitamin E and omega 3 are safe and effective at treating NAFLD patients. In this study, investigators aim to investigate if the enhanced synbiotic preparation of SLP07 is efficacious in liver function improvement in subjects with MAFLD.

CPET-based HIIT for MAFLD

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), as an individualized exercise training mode based on cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), is characterized by high-intensity training sessions interspersed with short rest periods. The findings from recent trials suggest that in the management of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), compared with traditional aerobic exercise modes such as moderate-intensity continuous training, HIIT may achieve similar or even better effects in reducing liver fat content, increasing peak oxygen uptake, improving insulin resistance, and lowering blood pressure, despite requiring less time commitment and lower energy expenditure. However, there is currently no consensus regarding the formulation of HIIT exercise protocols. Based on the lower limits of the current mainstream HIIT intensity, sets, and interval time parameters, this study aims to assess the effectiveness, safety, and feasibility of the current exercise prescription in improving MAFLD.
