Mindfulness Training to Promote Prosocial Tendencies in Nursing Students
Brief Summary
This study aims to examine the effects of a six-week mindfulness training program on mindfulness, moral identity, and prosocial tendencies among undergraduate nursing students. Nursing students were randomly assigned to either an intervention group or a control group. Students in the intervention group participated in six weekly mindfulness sessions, supplemented by guided audio materials and opportunities for daily practice. Students in the control group participated in an alternative educational workshop.
The study outcomes were assessed before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and at a two-month follow-up. The study seeks to determine whether mindfulness training can improve nursing students' mindfulness, moral identity, and prosocial tendencies over time. The findings may help inform the development of educational approaches to support nursing students' personal and professional development.
