Clinical Performance of Glass Hybrid and Alkasite Restorative Systems in MIH-Affected Permanent First Molars

The purpose of this randomized clinical trial is to compare the clinical performance and survival of two restorative systems in permanent first molars affected by molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH) in children aged 8 to 14 years. MIH is a developmental condition that affects the enamel of permanent first molars and may also affect permanent incisors. Affected molars may develop enamel breakdown, sensitivity, and dental caries and may require restorative treatment. Children included in the study will have at least two MIH-affected permanent first molars that require direct restorative treatment. In each child, one eligible tooth will be restored with the glass hybrid restorative system EQUIA Forte HT, and the other eligible tooth will be restored with the alkasite restorative system Cention Forte. The restorative system assigned to each tooth will be determined at random. Restorative treatment will be performed after selective caries removal and under rubber dam isolation. Researchers will compare the two restorations within the same child over time. The restorations will be evaluated for clinical performance and restoration survival. Follow-up assessments will be performed at 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, and 36 months after treatment.

Clinical Comparison of CAD/CAM Nanohybrid Composite and Hybrid Ceramic Overlays in Children With Molar-Incisor Hypomineralisation

This clinical study was conducted to compare two different dental materials used in the treatment of children who have a condition called molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH). MIH affects the quality of the enamel in permanent molars and can cause sensitivity, pain, and rapid tooth breakdown. In this study, children between the ages of 8 and 13 who had MIH in at least two molars received two types of onlay restorations: one made from a hybrid composite block and the other from a hybrid ceramic block. Both restorations were designed and manufactured using a digital system called CAD/CAM, which allows for more precise and efficient dental treatment. Each child received both types of restorations-one on each side of the mouth-in a split-mouth design. The goal was to see how well each material worked over a period of six months. The restorations were evaluated by trained dentists using clinical criteria, and the children were also assessed for tooth sensitivity using a cold air test. The main purpose of this study was to find out which material provides better clinical performance and reduces tooth sensitivity more effectively.

Nano Silver Fluoride and Photobiomodulation Therapy for Hypersensitivity and Pain in MIH-Affected Molars

Molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is a developmental condition affecting primarily the first permanent molars and may be associated with post-eruptive enamel breakdown, hypersensitivity, and difficulties in achieving adequate pain control during dental treatment. This randomized controlled trial will evaluate the effectiveness of nano silver fluoride (NSF) and photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) as desensitizing interventions applied before cavity preparation in children aged 7-12 years with MIH-affected first permanent molars with post-eruptive enamel breakdown. The study will compare the effects of NSF and PBMT with a control group receiving pre-appointment analgesics. Hypersensitivity will be assessed using the Cumulative Hypersensitivity Index (CHI), while pain during cavity preparation and restoration will be evaluated using the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale and pulse rate monitoring. All treated molars will receive glass ionomer cement restorations, which will subsequently be evaluated using the Modified United States Public Health Service (USPHS) criteria at 3, 6, and 12 months.

Total Pulpotomy With Two Repair Cements in Hypomineralized Teeth

BRIEF SUMMARY The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether two materials used during pulpotomy treatment can reduce pain after treatment in children with molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH), deep tooth decay, and irreversible pulpitis in permanent molars. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does the type of material used during pulpotomy affect pain after treatment? * Does the type of material affect pain when chewing during the first week after treatment? Researchers will compare Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) and CIMMO DTA® to determine whether one material provides better pain control after pulpotomy treatment. Participants will: * Attend a dental examination to confirm eligibility for the study. * Receive pulpotomy treatment on an affected permanent molar using either MTA or CIMMO DTA®. * Return for follow-up evaluations after treatment. * Record pain levels using a child-friendly pain scale during the first week after the procedure. The information collected in this study may help identify effective and accessible treatment options for children with MIH and irreversible pulpitis while preserving permanent teeth and reducing the need for more invasive procedures.

Comparison of Computer-Assisted and Conventional Local Anesthesia in Children With Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization

The main questions this study aims to answer are: Does computer-controlled local anesthesia cause less pain and anxiety than conventional local anesthesia in children with molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH)? Is there a difference between the two methods in anesthesia onset time, injection duration, physiological responses, and the need for additional anesthesia? Researchers will compare computer-controlled and conventional local anesthesia in children aged 8-12 years with MIH. Each child will receive both anesthesia methods during separate dental visits, on comparable permanent molar teeth, to determine which method is more comfortable, effective, and preferred by children.

Assessment of Peridontal Inflamatuar Markers in MIH

The goal of this observational study is to investigate periodontal inflammatory mediators in systemically healthy children aged 8-13 years with and without molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH) who require initial periodontal treatment due to gingivitis. The main questions it aims to answer are: Are the levels of periodontal inflammatory mediators in gingival crevicular fluid different between children with MIH and those without MIH? Is the presence and severity of MIH associated with clinical periodontal parameters and dentin hypersensitivity? Researchers will compare children with MIH to children without MIH to determine whether MIH is associated with changes in periodontal inflammatory mediator levels and periodontal clinical findings.

Evaluation of Occlusal Force and Masticatory Function in Children With Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization

This study aims to evaluate right-left chewing balance and masticatory function in children with Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) before and after restorative treatment. MIH is a developmental enamel defect that may cause tooth sensitivity, discomfort during chewing, and functional asymmetry. Children aged 7 to 12 years with bilateral MIH affecting the first permanent molars will receive glass hybrid restorative treatment. Right-left occlusal force distribution will be assessed using a digital occlusal analysis system. In addition, chewing side preference and chewing balance will be evaluated using a standardized chewing gum protocol. These two assessment methods will be used together to provide complementary information about masticatory function. Measurements will be performed before treatment and during follow-up visits after treatment. The findings obtained from children with MIH will also be compared with healthy children without MIH. The study aims to determine whether restorative treatment improves chewing balance and functional oral performance in children with MIH.
