Oral Motor and Cognitive Dual-Task Training (OMCDT) Program for Improving Oral and Cognitive Functions Among People With Oral Frailty
The goal of this clinical trial is to proposes a novel Oral Motor and Cognitive Dual-Task Training (OMCDT) program that combines both oral motor exercises and cognitive tasks to improve brain and oral function at the same time. It will also learn about the safety of drug ABC. The main questions it aims to answer is: Does the OMCDT training can improve the oral and cognitive functions? Participants will: Take the OMCDT training once a week for 32 weeks Visit the lab twice in the intervention period (16-week, 32-week) for checkups and tests

Effects of Surgery on Oral Frailty and Dysphagia in Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Dysphagia is a commonly reported complaint among patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), particularly those who have undergone upper-airway (oropharyngeal) surgery. However, how surgical treatment for OSA affects swallowing function and oral function (oral frailty) remains unclear. This prospective cohort study recruits adults with moderate-to-severe OSA from the sleep medicine clinic of Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital, Taiwan. Participants choose their own treatment as part of routine care; the study does not assign or influence treatment. Participants who undergo OSA surgery form the surgery group, and those who receive non-surgical treatment (e.g., CPAP) or no treatment form the non-surgical group. Swallowing difficulty (EAT-10) and oral frailty (seven oral hypofunction indicators) are assessed before treatment and at 1, 3, and 6 months after treatment.

Sleep Quality and Frailty Among People Living With HIV
With effective antiretroviral therapy (ART), people living with HIV (PLWH) are living longer and are increasingly experiencing aging-related conditions such as frailty and sleep problems. However, most frailty research has focused on the general older population, and little is known about how sleep relates to physical and oral frailty in PLWH. This case-control study compares sleep disturbance, physical frailty, and oral hypofunction between adults living with HIV receiving ART and sex-matched HIV-negative pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) users recruited from an infectious disease outpatient clinic at a medical center in southern Taiwan. The study also examines whether sleep disturbance (insomnia severity and daytime sleepiness) is associated with physical frailty and oral hypofunction, whether physical frailty represents an indirect pathway between sleep disturbance and oral hypofunction, and the roles of ART and serum Galectin-3 levels in predicting frailty among PLWH.

Group Reading and Oral Exercise Program for Older Adults
Depression is common among older adults and is often associated with declines in physical and oral health. Non-pharmacological, community-based interventions are needed to support both mental and physical well-being. This study examines the effects of a program combining group-based reading activities and oral exercises in community-dwelling older adults. Participants are randomly assigned to either an intervention group, which receives the six-week program, or a control group receiving general oral health education. The study evaluates whether the intervention can improve physical and oral function, enhance psychological resilience (grit), and reduce depressive symptoms.
