The Effect of Osteopathic Visceral Manipulation on Pain, Mobility and Functional Disability in Patients With Right Shoulder Adhesive Capsulitis

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of adding osteopathic visceral manipulation (OVM) to a standard physical therapy program on pain, functional disability, and range of motion (ROM) in patients diagnosed with right shoulder adhesive capsulitis (AC). A total of 49 patients aged between 40 and 65 years who were diagnosed with right shoulder AC were included in the study. Randomized patients received a standard physical therapy program for three weeks, consisting of 15 sessions (5 days per week) in both treatment groups. The standard program included hot pack application to the shoulder region for 20 min, conventional transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for 20 min, and ultrasound therapy at 1.5 W/cm² for 10 min. In addition to the standard physical therapy program, Group 1 (n=25) received OVM once weekly, while Group 2 (n=24) received sham OVM once weekly. Pain was evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), while functional disability was evaluated using the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPDI). The ROM values were also recorded.

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Children With Chronic or Recurrent Otitis Media

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT, can reduce the need for tympanostomy tube surgery in children with recurrent or chronic otitis media who have been referred to an Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon and are being considered for tympanostomy tube placement. The main question it aims to answer is: Can a standardized OMT protocol, given once weekly for 4 weeks before the final surgical decision, reduce the rate of tympanostomy tube surgery in pediatric patients with recurrent or chronic otitis media? Researchers will compare children who receive the standardized OMT protocol with children who receive a placebo/control manual treatment protocol to see whether OMT leads to a clinically meaningful reduction in the need for surgery. Participants will: * Attend 4 weekly study visits before their final ENT surgical decision. * Receive one of several assigned combinations of standardized OMT intervention procedures and control manual procedures. Each participant's assigned treatment sequence is determined by randomization. * Complete study-related assessments and questionnaires related to ear symptoms and quality of life. * Continue their planned ENT care, including follow-up evaluation with the ENT surgeon to determine whether tympanostomy tube surgery is still recommended.

Effect of Osteopathic Manipulation on Circulating Immune Markers

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) changes levels of immune markers in healthy volunteers. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does OMT change numbers of white blood cells or antibodies? Does OMT change levels of cytokines? Researchers will compare volunteers treated with OMT to volunteers undergoing sham treatment to see if OMT changes levels of immune markers. Participants will: * complete a survey about their medical history to determine if they are healthy enough for OMT * have blood drawn * undergo either sham treatment or OMT * have blood drawn 30 minutes after treatment
