A Study Evaluating the Performance of Using AI Software and Chest X-rays to Screen for Osteoporosis as Compared to Standard DXA Scans in Patients 50 Years and Older
The goal of this study is to assess the performance of an artificial intelligence software (Osteo Signal) in detecting osteoporosis risk in adults 50 years and older. The main question it aims to answer is: What is the accuracy of the software in detecting osteoporosis risk on chest x-ray images as compared to the standard technique of dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA)? There is no direct involvement of participants in this study as it will use data from individuals who have already had a chest x-ray and a DXA scan taken in the past.

Functional Exercise and Nutrition Education Program for Older Adults
There is strong evidence that specific types of exercise can improve health and physical function in older adults. While community exercise classes exist, many older adults with chronic conditions may need guidance from credentialed exercise professionals to ensure sufficient dose and progression and to address fears or low exercise self-efficacy. Furthermore, low protein intake among older adults is common and initiating exercise when nutrition is inadequate may cause weight loss and limit gains in muscle strength. The primary goal is to determine the feasibility of implementing the MoveSTroNg program under real-world conditions, measured through referral and recruitment to the program and study retention and adherence rates.

Fall, Fracture and Frailty
This project aims to improve the global outcome for an aging individual after a traumatic fall, through identifying conditions contributing to a fall and promoting recovery and rehabilitation. Through better understanding 'falling phenotype', the ultimate aim is to prevent future complications, as well as new falls and fractures in the growing older population.

Serum Myostatin and Irisin Levels in Postmenopausal Women: Association With Bone Mineral Density and Muscle Strength
This study aims to evaluate the relationship between serum myostatin and irisin levels and bone mineral density and muscle strength in postmenopausal women. Participants will be grouped according to bone mineral density as normal, osteopenic, or osteoporotic. Serum myostatin and irisin levels will be measured, and muscle strength will be assessed using handgrip strength and the five times sit-to-stand test. The associations between biochemical and functional parameters will be analyzed.
