RECRUITING

NCT07854431

CHECK-NIRS2D-Study

The study investigates how external, physiological, and behavioral factors influence the measurement of regional tissue oxygenation using two-dimensional near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) imaging in healthy volunteers. It aims to improve the standardization and reliability of this non-invasive method for assessing microvascular perfusion and tissue oxygenation. The study also examines the effects of temporary vascular occlusion, ambient temperature, physical activity, caffeine consumption, and nicotine consumption on NIRS-based tissue oxygenation measurements. The findings are intended to establish a standardized measurement protocol for future clinical research and the assessment of microvascular perfusion in critically ill patients.

RECRUITING

NCT07831057

Temperature Optimization in Afebrile Septic PatienTs

The goal of this interventional study is to learn if external warming works to treat patients with a serious systemic infection (i.e. sepsis) that do not have fever. These patients have a higher risk of dying than patients with fever. It is possible that these patients might benefit from artificial external warming with the means to increase body temperature. It is unknown what the mechanism is, but it might be related to the immune system and how the body manages blood pressure and perfusion. The main questions to answer are: * Does external warming of the body influence certain inflammatory proteins in the blood? * Does external warming of the body influence prognosis and/or clinical condition? Researchers will compare external warming to standard clinical practice to see if external warming works to treat sepsis without fever. Participants will: \- receive treatment with external warming or treatment according to clinical practice

Hypothermia Versus Normothermia After Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest

The SAVE-J NEUROTHERM trial is a cluster randomized trial that evaluated and compared the mortality risk, neurological outcomes, and adverse events between patients who underwent hypothermia and those who underwent normothermia after extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Effects of Sedation, TEmperature and Pressure After Cardiac Arrest and REsuscitation on Major Adverse Kidney Events (STEPCARE-MAKE)

The STEPCARE-MAKE study is a predefined sub-study of the large Sedation, TEmperature and Pressure after Cardiac Arrest and REsuscitation (STEPCARE) trial, which evaluates the effects of three interventions in comatose adult patients resuscitated from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. In this sub-study, all 3500 participants enrolled in the main trial are assessed for major adverse kidney events (MAKE) and creatinine kinetics.
