Thyroid Hormone Responses to Repeated Wingate Exercise Versus a Non-Exercising Comparison Group
This two-group, non-randomized study investigated the acute effects of repeated Wingate exercise on free thyroid hormone concentrations in male amateur soccer players. Twenty healthy male amateur soccer players completed a standardized repeated Wingate exercise protocol, and a separate group of twenty male amateur soccer players provided two morning blood samples without exercising. Blood samples were collected immediately before and immediately after the exercise session or the resting interval to determine free triiodothyronine (fT3), free thyroxine (fT4), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) concentrations. Including a non-exercising comparison group allows the observed changes to be evaluated against the change expected across a comparable interval in the absence of exercise.

Dietary Macronutrients and Metabolic Markers
This prospective 12-week dietary intervention study evaluated the effects of a ketogenic diet on thyroid function and glucose-insulin metabolism in premenopausal women aged 30-50 years across different adiposity categories. Participants followed an individualized low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet designed to induce and maintain nutritional ketosis. Thyroid-related outcomes included thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (FT3), and free thyroxine (FT4). Glucose-insulin metabolism was assessed using fasting glucose, fasting insulin, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and the homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Changes in body mass and anthropometric parameters were also evaluated. Outcomes were assessed before and after the 12-week intervention and compared according to baseline BMI categories.

Thyroxine Supplementation in Small for Gestational Age (SGA) Infants With Birth Weight <1500g and TSH 6-20 mIU/ml
The primary objective of this clinical trail is to evaluate whether early supplementation of levothyroxine (L-T4) at a dosage of 8 ug/kg/d, initiated in the second week of life, improves physical growth and neurodevelopmental outcomes at 2 years of corrected age in Small for Gestational Age (SGA) infants with birth weights \< 1500g and TSH levels between 6 and 20 mIU/ml. Preterm infants in the intervention group will receive 8 ug/kg/d of L-T4, while the control group will receive no supplementation. Physical growth will be assessed through height, weight, and head circumference, while neurodevelopmental status will be evaluated using the Bayley-IV scales and cranial MRI imaging findings.
