Turkish Version of the BARSE

Background Physical inactivity is known to rank fourth among modifiable mortality risk factors globally and plays a central role in the etiology of noncommunicable diseases. In the context of physical activity, self-efficacy is a multidimensional construct, primarily divided into task self-efficacy and barrier self-efficacy. While task self-efficacy is crucial for initiating physical activity, barrier self-efficacy-the individual's belief in their capability to maintain exercise in the face of various physical, social, or psychological obstacles-is essential for long-term adherence. The Barrier-Specific Self-Efficacy Scale (BARSE), developed by McAuley et al., is specifically designed to measure this barrier self-efficacy dimension. A comprehensive literature review revealed no published Turkish validity and reliability study of the BARSE. Signed permission has been obtained from the original author to conduct this cultural adaptation. Objectives The primary aim of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the BARSE among healthy young adults, thereby contributing a standardized, culturally adapted instrument to the scientific community. Study Design and Procedures This methodological study will conduct at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, between September-October 2026 with an enrollment of 133 healthy adult participants. The BARSE is a unidimensional scale consisting of 13 items. Participants are asked to rate their confidence in continuing to exercise under various challenging situations on a scale from 0% (not at all confident) to 100% (highly confident) in 10% increments. To establish construct validity and examine related health behaviors, participants will also complete several standardized tools: the Self-Rated Abilities for Health Practices Scale (SRAHP), the Exercise Benefits/Barriers Scale (EBBS), the Self-Perceived Barriers for Physical Activity Questionnaire (SPBPA), the Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF). Statistical Analysis The language adaptation will conduct using the standard translation and back-translation method. Content validity will be evaluated using the Davis technique. Construct validity will be assessed through factor analysis and correlation coefficients. For reliability analyses, the scales will be administered twice with a 15-day interval. Reliability will be determined by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient, corrected item-total correlations, and the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Potential differences between test and retest measurements will be evaluated using appropriate statistical tests.

Study of Running Injuries and Treatment Habits in Romanian Speakers

This study examines running injuries, quality of life, and treatment habits among Romanian-speaking runners. A key objective is the Romanian language adaptation and validation of the University of Wisconsin Running Injury and Recovery Index (UWRI), a running-specific questionnaire. The purpose is to understand: * What types of running injuries are most common * How injuries affect runners' daily life and well-being * What prevention and treatment methods runners currently use * What healthcare services runners use for injuries * To provide a validated Romanian version of the UWRI questionnaire Participants will complete an online questionnaire about their running experience, any injuries they have had, how these injuries affected their life, and what treatments they tried. The survey takes about 25-30 minutes to complete. All information is confidential and anonymous. This research will help healthcare providers better understand and treat running injuries in the Romanian-speaking community.

Validation of the Dutch Translation of the Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire

The aim of our research is to be able to use the questionnaire 'Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire' (PEQ) in Dutch. The PEQ is a validated and reliable questionnaire for research into the quality of life in adults with a lower limb prosthesis. The research consists of two phases. The first phase is the translation of the PEQ and the second phase is the validation of this questionnaire. To validate the questionnaire, we want to include 84 participants who have to complete questionnaires three times within a period of three months.

Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Version of the Manual Dexterity Questionnaire

Evaluation of Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Translation of the Digital Health Readiness Questionaire in Different Chronic Diseases

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines digital health as the field of knowledge and application related to any aspect of the adoption of digital technology in the stages of improvement. The combination of digital health with technology brings about a new transformation in digital media. This transformation allows for the development of communication and information in health services, the ability to conduct health-related research on digital media and the evaluation of this data. The ease of access to information and the provision of a timely feedback mechanism in the face of problems have enabled the spread of digital health systems, and have also enabled chronic disease management and epidemic disease monitoring. It is recommended that the term digital readiness be used to cover the combination of digital access and use, digital literacy and digital health literacy. Digital health readiness is also defined as the main determinant of health and is thought to contribute to the improvement of health processes with the development of digital health literacy and to be a useful solution against health problems that may arise in the follow-up of chronic diseases. Although there are tools in the literature that evaluate digital health readiness, there is no Turkish assessment tool that facilitates the follow-up of non-communicable chronic diseases. Therefore, the aim of our study is to evaluate the translation, validity, and reliability of the Digital Health Readiness Questionaire into Turkish in individuals with chronic non-infectious diseases.
