Effects of Exercise Training on Posture, Pain, and Sleep Quality in Esports Players

This study aimed to investigate the effects of an eight-week exercise training program on posture, pain, and sleep quality in esports players. Esports players were randomly assigned to an exercise group or a control group. Participants in the exercise group performed a home-based exercise program consisting of postural exercises, stretching, spinal mobility exercises, and breathing exercises. The control group did not receive structured exercise training. Both groups received recommendations regarding ergonomic sitting posture and physical activity. Posture, pain, disability related to neck and low back pain, and sleep quality were assessed at baseline and after eight weeks using the New York Posture Rating Chart, Visual Analog Scale, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.

Neuromuscular Training in Professional Esports Players

Professional esports players engage in prolonged training sessions and experience high physical and mental stress due to intensive competition schedules. These demands can lead to increased fatigue, decreased performance, and health problems. This randomized controlled trial aims to investigate whether adding a structured neuromuscular exercise program to routine esports training reduces fatigue and stress biomarkers and improves performance-related outcomes in professional esports players.

Can Different Exercise Modalities Improve Esports Performance?

This study aims to investigate the long-term effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on esports performance through a 12-week three-arm randomized controlled trial, and to examine the sustainability of these effects during a follow-up period after intervention cessation. Additionally, we seek to compare the differential impacts of these two exercise modalities on various dimensions of esports performance, thereby providing evidence-based guidance for esports training regimens and enhancing our understanding of the underlying mechanisms by which different exercise approaches influence cognitive and motor capabilities essential for competitive gaming.
